What to do in Thailand on a one-week tour

To make your journey adventurous and memorable, make a tour around the most popular and most spectacular sights in Thailand. These destinations should include: Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Lampang, Lamphun, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. These are some of the most popular destinations of Thailand. Visiting any of them will surely make a memorable experience, but if you visit all of them, you will have part of a special and unique journey.

Day 1 – Bangkok

The amazing capital city of Thailand is an unforgettable experience for any traveler. You can not visit Thailand without visiting Bangkok. Visit as many attractions as you can in the spectacular city. You can not miss the Grand Palace with Wat Phra Kaew, Bangkok National Museum, Wat Arun and others. Make a tour on the Khao San Road, buy some souvenirs and eventually eat a delicious meal at one of the city’s restaurants.

Day 2 – Ayutthaya

The ancient city of Ayutthaya used to be the second capital city of the country, after Sukhothai. The ruins of the ancient city are protected today in a historical park which is extremely popular among tourists. It includes the remains of spectacular temples and structures. This World Heritage Site is a must-see attraction of Thailand.

Days 3 – Phitsanulok and Sukhothai

The historic city of Phitsanulok is another important destination for tourists, being home to fascinating temples, palaces, art galleries, the Buranathai Buddha Foundry, the Night Market and other types of attractions. From Phitsanulok you should head through the ancient ruins of Sukhothai. The Sukhothai Historical Park is as astonishing as Ayutthaya. It protects the ruins of spectacular temples and sculptures which are extremely popular among visitors.

Day 4 – Lampang and Lamphun

Your next destination should be the northern city of Lampang. This fascinating city is home to numerous beautiful attractions, such as the Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, the Thai Elephant Concentration Centre and numerous other temples. The other beautiful and popular northern city is Lamphun. It is the home of Wat Phra That Haripunchai, one of the country’s most important temples.

Days 5 – Chiang Mai

As one of the best-known cities of Thailand, Chiang Mai attracts dozens of visitors every year. You shouldn’t miss it either during your one-week tour. The city houses numerous gorgeous temples. Besides the temples, there are numerous museums in Chiang Mai, not to mention the fantastic festivals which are held in the city.

Day 6 – Chiang Rai

On your 6th day you should arrive to the northernmost point of your journey – Chiang Rai. It is a fascinating town which is very popular among visitors. Among the attractions of the town are the Boomerang Adventure Park, the Night Bazaar, several fantastic Buddhist temples and the nearby attractions.

Day 7 – Returning to Bangkok

On the last day of your fascinating one-week tour you should return to Bangkok and get on the airplane to travel back home. If you missed some attractions on the first day, you can still visit them now.
