1. Patong Beach (Phuket)

The most popular beach of Thailand is also the largest beach of the western part of the island of Phuket. Patong Beach has a wide coastline. The sand is white and soft, which is an important factor when choosing a beach. As for the accommodation, there are several hotels, guest houses and resorts located within some hundred meters far from the beach. There are also many restaurants and entertainment possibilities, such as jet skiing. Let’s not forget of young tourists who spend their holiday in Phuket! Patong Beach is the perfect place for them, as the nightlife is one of the most vibrant ones in the city. There are several bars and clubs on the beach, but if you would like to buy something, you will also find many shops here.

2. Railey Beach, Krabi


Surrounded by impressive cliffs, this wonderful beach can be accessed only by boat. One of the Thailand’s most popular beaches, it is located in Krabi Provence. The beach is separated in West Railey and East Railey. Going to East Railey, you will have the possibility to admire the mangroves. You can get to Raily Beach by boat from Krabi’s main beach, Ao Nang. The small beach is perfect for relaxing, swimming or rock climbing, but there’s not much else to do here. There are only a few bars and accommodation possibilities are also limited, there are only some bungalows and resorts on Railey Beach.


3. Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi Ley


Also surrounded by limestone cliffs, the small island of Koh Phi Phi is a couple of hours by boat from Phuket or Krabi. Maya Bay also has soft sand and the landscape is picturesque. This is why the beach is very popular for tourists. If the crowds don’t bother you, Maya Bay can be the perfect and most beautiful place to spend your holiday at. The islands surrounding Koh Phi Phi offer you hiking, snorkeling and swimming opportunities. There are also many scuba diving schools on the bay. As for the accommodation, there are several guest houses and resorts on the island.

4. Hua Hin Beach, Hua Hin


Located in the Gulf of Siam, it is not the greatest beach for swimming, but it’s surely the perfect one for families with children, because the beach slopes very gently into the ocean. Only a few hours far from Bangkok, this small beach is surrounded by a town where you can find several hotels to stay at. Besides lounging on the beach, you have the possibility to ride a horse in Hua Hin or take a trip to the nearby mountains.


5. Kata Beach, Phuket


This, more quiet beach of Phuket than Patong Beach, is situated in the southern part of the city. If you plan your vacation at Phuket, make sure you visit this peaceful beach full of beautiful palm trees. There are no luxurious hotels or shopping possibilities here, but the landscape is gorgeous. During low seasons the waves at the beach are much bigger, which can offer the surf-lovers a great choice.
