Bangkok is a city full of breathtaking sights and landmarks. Besides the usual sights like museums, art galleries, Buddhist temples, parks and gardens, theatres, cabarets and other attractions, Bangkok has a weird face, too. Some of the best weird attractions in Bangkok are the following: the Forensic Museum, the Robot Building, the Phallic Shrine, the Giant Dragon Tower, the Erawan Museum and so on. In case you would like to have part of some unique and unusual experiences, visit the previously mentioned sights. Visiting these weird attractions will surely make you a remarkable holiday. In case you want to find out more about these sights, read the guide below.

The Forensic Museum

This weird museum of Bangkok is one of the most unusual and unique attractions you should visit in the Thai capital city. The interesting Forensic Museum is housed within the Siriraj Hospital, located on the western bank of the River Chao Phraya. It is actually a pathology, forensic museum which presents children born with genetic disorders kept in formaldehyde. You can visit this unique museum Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 16:00. The Robot Building

The unique Robot Building is situated on the South Sathorn Road. The architect of this unusual building says that the original inspiration came from the toy robot of his son. It is a huge 20-storey building which is very popular among those looking for unusual sights. Some elements of the design serve different purposes, including the oversized ‘bolts’ which act as sunshades.

The Phallic Shrine

One of the most weird attractions of Bangkok and I think of the entire country is the Phallic Shrine which includes hundreds of phalluses (penises)…yes, you’ve read it correctly. There are dozens of penises, ranging from small wooden carved ones to huge stone sculptures.

The shrine is dedicated to a female fertility spirit named Chao Mae Tubtim. Women willing to conceive visit the shrine and leave lotus or jasmine here. If you are traveling with small children, you should avoid this sight.

The Giant Dragon Tower

You have to get a little outside of the city to visit the amazing Giant Dragon Tower. It is an immense 17-storey tower surrounded by a huge dragon. It can be found near the temple named Wat Samphran. The grounds of the temple also include numerous dragon statues and different animal statues.

The Erawan Museum

Another interesting and unusual museum in Bangkok is the Erawan Museum. The most weird thing about this museum is the immense three-headed elephant statue standing on top of the building. On its three levels, the museum presents parts of the Thai cosmos. The décor seems to be one seen in a dream. You will surely enjoy the visit. The museum is open daily from 8:00 until 17:00.
