The best destinations in the Gulf of Thailand

Thailand is one of the top tourist destinations of Asia and the entire world. With thousands of outstanding visitor attractions, this fascinating country offers a large variety of activities to its visitors. Koh Samui

Situated in the southern part of the Gulf of Thailand, the fantastic island of Koh Samui is one of the major tourist destinations of Thailand. Being the third largest island of the country, it is very popular among tourists due to its gorgeous soft sandy beaches and beautiful coral reefs in the surrounding waters. The island attracts about 1.5 million visitors yearly, tourism being a major source of income for local people. The island presents over 250 excellent resorts, luxury villas and beautiful bungalows which are worldwide famous.

Koh Chang

The second largest island of the country, Koh Chang is also a major tourist destination. It can be found on the eastern coast of the gulf, belonging to Trat Province. In spite of being larger than the island of Koh Samui, it is less developed, but still attractive for visitors. Besides the gorgeous beaches, there are other attractions on the island, too, including waterfalls, beautiful hills, villages and spas. Visitors can practice hiking, canoeing, elephant trekking, mountain biking and scuba diving. It is with no doubt one of the best destinations in the Gulf of Thailand.

Koh Pha Ngan

Situated closely to the island of Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan is famous for its full moon party held at Haad Rin Beach. The island is very popular among backpackers, too. Haad Rin Beach actually includes two beaches: Sunrise Beach and Sunset Beach. There are numerous resorts on the island which attract every month visitors to the famous Full Moon Party.

Pattaya

The city and seaside resort of Pattaya can be found in the north-eastern part of the Gulf of Thailand. The fantastic beach and the islands which belong to Pattaya are extremely popular among visitors. The beach presents numerous shops, restaurants and vibrant nightlife. Among the activities which can be practiced are jet skiing, sailing, parasailing and other watersports.

Koh Samet

Koh Samet is situated closely to Bangkok. The highlights of the island are the fantastic beaches, including the Crystal Sand Beach, Hat Sai Kaeo. It is among the most popular beaches of the island. Koh Samet is with no doubt one of the best destinations of the Gulf of Thailand.
