Thailand has hundreds of beautiful islands. Ko Kut district located in Trat Province, eastern Thailand consists of several islands. One of these, Ko Kut, also spelt “Ko Kood” is the southernmost and second largest island in the Ko Chang archipelago. It is situated closely to Cambodia. The island is a beautiful mountainous island. It is a perfect holiday destination if you are looking for fantastic resorts, white and soft sand, crystal blue water and not so crowded beaches. There are also restaurants, shops and tourist centers for the visitors.

The temple and the lighthouse

For the lovers of culture and art, there is a temple to visit in the center of the island. It is situated in a small valley and it isn’t really easy to access. In the southern part of the island there is a huge lighthouse. It is quite hard to get at the lighthouse, but if you find the way to it, you will have the possibility of getting up to the top of it. The view over the sea and Cambodia is breathtaking. There are no roads leading to these two attractions, so make sure you have a pair of walking boots in your bag.

Natural heritage

The flora of the island is dominated by the rainforests. There are also coconut plantations in Ko Kut. This is a mainly mountainous area, so hikers will adore it! There are also several waterfalls on the island. The most famous of them is the Nam Tok Anam Kok Waterfall in Nam Tok Khlong Chao, in the jungle, which cascades into a large pool that makes it an ideal place for swimming. You can contact the “The Hub” Activity Center located in the Away Resort for booking an interesting tour. The waterfall is accessible from Away Resort by boat. There are also organized trekking tours on the island and if you are a fan of bikes, you have the possibility to rent one at Away Resort.

Many of them are accessible only by boat, such as Ta Tin Beach or Yai Kerd Beach. As for the accommodation, the resorts are very comfortable and also agreeable.
