Thailand is considered an exotic destination. So is its capital city, Bangkok. It is a huge city, the largest one in the country, having a population of about 12 million inhabitants. The spectacular city owns several famous landmarks and attractions, being very popular among tourists and attracting dozens of visitors each year. Its festivals and events are also very popular. Siam

It is one of the most visited areas of the city, being the shopping paradise of Bangkok. Besides fantastic shopping spots, there are also several attractions worth visiting in this area. Some of the great shopping spots are Siam Center and MBK Center. There are also several boutiques, bookshops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas, hotels and different kind of shops and malls in Siam. There are also entertainment possibilities here, suck as karaoke and bowling. For those who would like to get a rest after shopping, there is also a beautiful temple named Pathum Wanaram. Siam Ocean World is a spectacular attraction of the area, being the only aquarium of the city.

The Old City

Also named Rattanakosin, the area is home to the most beautiful historic attractions of Bangkok. There are numerous wonderful historic buildings in the Old City, such as the impressive Buddhist temple named Wat Phra Kaew, the gorgeous royal Grand Palace, the meditation center named Wat Mahathat, the scenic historical park, Sanam Luang and the popular National Gallery of Bangkok. If you got tired and hungry while visiting the several attractions of the area, take a rest and eat delicious Thai food at one of the magnificent restaurants of the Old City. Of course, just like in Siam, there are also great shopping spots here which include fantastic markets. The products on offer surely suite every preference.

Sukhumvit

Although there are gorgeous attractions, restaurants and great shopping spots in Sukhumvit, the area is best-known for its vibrant nightlife. There are dozens of clubs, bars and pubs where you can dance and drink beside others Thai drink and cocktails. Beer bars and go-go bars are also very famous among visitors. Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy are just two of the popular nightlife spots of Sukhumvit. Don’t be surprised if you find ladyboy locals in the area, as these are very popular in the whole country.

Chinatown

As in many big cities of the world, there is an area named Chinatown in Bangkok, too. It is famous for its restaurants where you can eat Chinese and Thai food at the same time. The attractions of the area are the spectacular Chinese temples. Gold shops are also very popular among visitors. If you happen to visit Bangkok during the Chinese New Year festival, don’t miss to visit Chinatown. I guarantee you will be amazed by huge dragons, vibrant colors and traditional dances. Other great attractions of the area are its textile market, a museum and the beautiful Chinese-Buddhist temples, such as Wat Mangkon Kamalawat.
