While visitors of Bangkok enjoy their visit and try to see as much as they can of this fascinating city, for many of them money is sometimes tight. Although being an Asian country (which means that prices are not as high as in Western European countries for instance), for many Thailand may be a little expensive, especially the price of the airfare.

In this case visitors with a limited budget will have to save some money by visiting free sights and looking for cheap, yet good restaurants and accommodation at the respective destination. If you are planning to visit the Thai capital city, Bangkok and you have limited budget, read the following guide. Below I will give some budget tips for visitors in Bangkok.

Cheap attractions

The beautiful Buddhist temples of Bangkok are cheap attractions to visit. Temples like Wat Arun and Wat Po charge minimal entrance fee. Visit the temples for just 20 to 50 baht and enjoy the astonishing architecture, admire the golden Buddha and saffron-robed monks at lesser known temples like Wat Pathum Wanaram and Wat Indrawihan. Free attractions of Bangkok are some markets, including the Amulet Market and the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market.

Cheap sightseeing

In case you would like to see the major part of Bangkok, I recommend you to take a boat tour on the Chao Praya River. It is one of the cheapest ways to get around Bangkok. Besides, it is also the most authentic and fun way to see Bangkok. For only a 12 baht fare you can spend an hour on the boat. Boats run all day, every 10-15 minutes, so you can get on as many times and whenever you want.

Cheap hotels

Besides the luxurious hotels, there are several budget hotels in Bangkok. Some of the best cheap hotels are the following: Imm Fusion Sukhumvit, D&D Inn, Lub d Bangkok, Baiyoke Boutique Hotel, Baan Silom Soi 3, Suk11 Hostel and so on. Although being cheap, these hotels offer great services and facilities, including stylish interior, free Wi-Fi, swimming pools and so on.

Cheap restaurants

There are great cheap restaurants in Bangkok. You’ll find several cheap restaurants in Chinatown for example. Here you can eat the city’s freshest and cheapest seafood. There are several seafood street stalls in Chinatown. Besides, you will find hundreds of food stalls selling strange fried insects, birds nest soup and even scorpions on sticks.
